FELLOWSHIP ANNOUNCEMENTS

HAPPENINGS AT THE FELLOWSHIP

HAVE YOU HEARD?

The BLACK CABINET

What is in The Black Cabinet?

The black cabinet in the small lounge/storage area (southwest corner), just outside the women’s restroom, contains shared household supplies for Fellowship use.

If you notice we’re running low on a needed item, please restock it from the cabinet inventory. You’ll find extra paper products, including toilet paper, hand towels, paper towels, and tissues, to help replenish supplies as needed.

When you see we’re low, now you know where to go.

When the cabinet itself is low, contact our Supplies Chair.

Please remember: these supplies are for Fellowship use only, not for personal use.

BLUE LOCKERS

DOES YOUR MEETING NEED STORAGE SPACE?

Meetings that use literature or other materials not provided by the Mokena Fellowship Center may request a locker to store items such as books, phone lists, business meeting notes, group conscience decisions, and other meeting materials.

  • One locker may be requested per meeting.
  • Lockers are assigned by request (subject to availability).
  • Mokena Fellowship Center provides the locker and a keyed lock with a $5 deposit.
  • Your meeting receives one key, and Mokena Fellowship Center keeps the second key.

To request a locker for your meeting, text the Keys Chair.

Blue Storage Lockers are available to Meetings by request to the Key Chair.

THE COMMUNITY WHITE + PIN BOARDS

KEEP IN MIND OUR TRADITIONS

When adding an announcement to the White Board, ask yourself,

  1. Is this an AA/Al-Anon/Alateen/CoDA event?
  2. Is it rooted in AA and the 12 Steps?
  3. Is it an MFC Fellowship event or announcement?
  4. Is it sharing vital AA community information, like the passing of a member?

If yes, the content is appropriate for the MFC White Board. (East Side)

If not, this content may belong on the Fellowship Pin Board (West Side, near the coffee pot) if it is events/meetings happening outside the Fellowship.

Information for other recovery programs (not AA/Al-Anon/Alateen/CoDA) does not belong at the Fellowship. Religious materials/booklets and religious ceremony announcements (aside from members' memorial services) also do not belong at the Fellowship.

Not sure? Remember our Premable:

"A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization, or  institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy, neither endorses nor opposes any causes."

Items that do not follow these guidelines will be removed and disposed. Concerns about this guideline can be addressed during Steering Committee Meetings, which serve as the business meetings for the fellowship.

ALATEEN UPDATE

CHAIR PEOPLE TRAINING

All Chair People need to attend a training meeting. This is a mandatory meeting to inform you of your responsibilities and what to do in case of an emergency.

To receive training, please contact Steve Kr. at +1 815-999-2287.

Chair People are the backbone of MFC. Without our chairs, there would be no meetings. We are grateful to each and every one of you for your service work. Keep coming back!
